Man Charged In Crash Has Long Record WJXT Jacksonville

The victims of the crash were identified Saturday as Brenda Mitchell Edwards, 57, of Jacksonville; her daughter Melissa L. Mitchell, 39, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Mitchell's three children, Miya Mitchell, 11, and twins Christian and Keyshawn Perry, both 4; and Edward's granddaughter Dhanja Mitchell, 16, of Jacksonville.

Monique Mitchell, who lost her daughter, mother, sister, niece and twin nephews, talked Monday about the tragedy.

"I'm not angry because he is a person, too, and he will make mistakes," Mitchell said. "But I'm hurt, and I want to follow this up to the fullest extent of the law and make sure that if he was at fault he be properly punished."

Alcazar was being held in the Nassau County Jail on $300,012 bail.

FHP said alcohol didn't appear to be a factor, but the accident was still under investigation.
