The J.D. Power and Associates' Member Health Insurance Plan Study evaluated people's satisfaction with their insurers based on the following criteria:

-- Choice of doctors, hospitals and pharmacies

-- Information and communication from the health plan

-- Approval process

-- Claims processing

-- Insurance statements

-- Customer service

In addition to ranking highest in Texas, the company also ranked highest for member satisfaction in Ohio in this year's study.

Texas represents one of Humana's largest commercial markets; more than 440,000 of Humana's 3.4 million commercial medical plan members live in Texas.
